I went into labor on March 11th, which was two weeks early.  I went to work because before the baby and even with my husband that was a huge part of my life. Apparently I don't do well with pregnancy tests.  Heck, the one I took at the doctor on July 12th didn't even come out right.

Chemistry, or culture?</title><summary type='text'>The word "chemistry" in terms of this Mets team has been discussed, I feel, ad nauseum, for the better part of this 2010 campaign since the team started winning without the likes of Beltran, Ollie, and Castillo.

Thisclose, but just short.</title><summary type='text'>The Mets were bound to lose a game at home and they did tonight, losing 6-5 to the Tigers.  Takahashi apparently giveth, and Takahashi taketh away.  He pitched 4 innings, giving up six earned, four walks, and four strikeouts.

First let me begin by saying I have great respect for you as GM during your tenure with the Mets.  You made decisions and were scrutinized intensely for much of what you did as the General Manager.  As a Mets fan, some of my greatest memories I have are of the teams that you worked to put together, and for that I am grateful as a fan.

I don't know who made the decision to bring rookie Ike Davis up from the minors to play, but it was the best decision the Mets have made in several seasons.  He seems to have the perfect combination of the poise of a veteran and the heart of a rookie.

He somewhat bounced back and then gave up 3 more runs in the 5th.  What could Manuel do?  He has so overused this bullpen that he needed Maine to finish at least through the 5th.

Is a team just a team because it is a collection of people who all wear the same uniform?  Is a team just a group of people with some sort of loose affiliation?

The Mets aren't playing perfect baseball.  But they are playing well enough to win.  Our bullpen has been awesome on this home stand.  K-Rod has had three straight saves.  It looked like a beautiful day in Queens and a great day for a Mets win.  It made this gloomy day in St. Louis a little brighter for this Mets fan.
